What would you try if you knew you couldn’t fail?  What an incredibly powerful question.  As I continue to grow my business, write my book, and get ready for a webinar series, I ask myself this question a lot.

The biggest barrier to our success is us.  I think about things I want to accomplish, and the first thoughts that typically flood my mind are self-doubts and  self-imposed barriers, and I know I’m not the only one.  Most of us try to plan our dreams around what we think is possible, not what we really desire to achieve.  I don’t think the problem is that we set our goals too high and miss.  I think the problem is that we set our goals too low and hit them.

As you think about what you would try or do, allow yourself to dream big.  Stop the negative, self-defeating thoughts when they enter your mind.  Bring yourself back and ask yourself again.  If you are having trouble finding an answer, go back to what you were doing and try again tomorrow.  We’re so conditioned to limit ourselves that this takes practice.

Whether your marriage, your career, your hobbies, or your life in general, what would you try if you knew you couldn’t fail?

  1. Anne you hit the nail right on the head! I realized over the last month how much I’ve been holding myself back thinking I couldn’t do it. If I could I would build a multi-million dollar business with a company culture that makes Zappos look lame and a positive global influence that makes WHole Foods look minor league. I would have it all on my terms–family, business, lifestyle, and fitness. Good thing we’re talking tomorrow. I’m ready 🙂
